BOMBER: An unexpected gift

Having read that the classic World War II bomber B-25J “Maid in the Shade” was at the Coeur d’Alene airport last weekend I drove over to have a look at it. What a magnificent, historical sight! When I realized they were giving rides I inquired about the price. Being out of my price range, I declined but continued to admire this piece of history when a gentleman came over and informed me someone had bought a ticket for me!

I gleefully climbed aboard and we sailed above both Hayden and Coeur d’Alene lakes with a plane full of awestruck passengers. What an experience!

After we landed I went to find and thank my very generous benefactor but he had left.

I want to sincerely thank Mr. Jerry Johnson for his generous kindness. You provided a very big ray of sunshine to my day…THANK YOU!
