Fundraiser for scoreboard

honoring coach Hinz begins

Post Falls High School has launched a fundraiser for a new scoreboard at the Post Falls High football field and track in memory of Jeff Hinz.

Hinz, the Trojans’ head football coach the past 11 seasons, and a coach at Post Falls for the past 22, died of non-smoker’s lung cancer on July 20 at age 45.

In Hinz’s memory, and at his and his family’s request, a memorial fund has been established to purchase a new scoreboard at the school.

“We now have the opportunity to give back to our community, as a tribute to Coach Hinz, by raising funds for a much needed multi-purpose scoreboard where all of Jeff’s past and present coaches, players, fans and community supporters will be able to pay their respects to the man who was such an inspiration in their lives,” a letter sent out to potential donors states. “We will also be able to celebrate and honor his son, Parker, and his fellow teammates who will be playing their final season at PFHS without their Father and/or Coach.”

Donations can be made in person to any US Bank branch c/o: Jeffrey Hinz Memorial Scoreboard Fund; mailed to 1869 Teanaway Drive, Post Falls, ID 83854; or at www.gofundme.com/CoachHinzMemorial
