Six apply for NIC Board of Trustees position

The North Idaho College Board of Trustees received six applications for the Zone 5 trustee position.

The applicants are as follows: Dave Botting of Athol, Edward Livingston of Spirit lake, Michael Maxwell of Coeur d’Alene, Brad Murray of Rathdrum, Matthew Neff of Rathdrum and Geri Wile of Post Falls.

“We got a good response from applicants and I’m really pleased with that,” said board chair Ken Howard. “Now, we have to decide, as trustees, do we fill the spot now or wait until the elections, but I think the board is inclined to put somebody in that spot.”

A date has not yet been set to elect a new trustee. The next NIC Board of Trustees meeting is Aug. 24 where farewell to Ron Nilson, whose spot is being filled, is on the agenda. The board will then begin the interview process with the six candidates.
