Prep sports get

underway today

The first soccer matches of the fall high school sports season will be held today in the area, with Sandpoint visiting Coeur d’Alene in nonleague girls play at noon.

Other girls matches are Lakeland at Post Falls starting at 2:30 p.m., with Bonners Ferry traveling to St. Maries to open Intermountain League play at 4.

In boys matches, Post Falls faces state 4A runner-up Lakeland at 2:30 p.m. at Rotary Field in Rathdrum and Bonners Ferry playing at St. Maries at 2.
