Hazel Lennea Thompson, 78

| August 15, 2016 9:00 PM

Hazel Lennea Thompson, 78, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, surrounded by loved ones in her home in Hayden, Idaho. Lennea, as her family and friends knew her, was born on Jan. 29, 1938, in Wallace, Idaho, to Lennea Christina Clark and William Henry Clark. Lennea was married on May 19, 1956, in Wallace to Floyd Neal Thompson.

Lennea was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Clark and her granddaughter, Natasha Elbereth Flansaas. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Floyd; her brother, John Clark; her two daughters, Colleen Marie Flansaas and Kathleen Marie Schaefer; and six grandchildren, Michael Alan Wegner, Krista Kathleen Ramos, Jack Michael Robertson III, Alexis Taylor Robertson, Jennifer Lynn Flansaas and Orion Nels Flansaas.

Lennea was a follower of Christ and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a generous and affectionate grandmother, and a kind friend. Lennea enjoyed the company of her family and invested much time and love into the lives of her grandchildren. Always wearing a light-hearted disposition, she enjoyed going to church, camping, playing cribbage, watching old westerns and reading. Lennea was especially fond of Christmas, and she loved decorating for the holiday season, as well as cooking and baking delicious holiday meals for her family. She retired from Kootenai Health after 20 years of dedicated hard work. Lennea, in some way, touched the lives of everyone she met and will be missed by many.

Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Lennea’s online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
