PASCO, Wash. — In the wackiest of ways, the Spokane Indians did just enough to beat the Tri-City Dust Devils in Northwest League baseball on Tuesday night.

Seth Spivey hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded, but thanks to two throwing errors by Tri-City, three runs scored on the play as the Indians held off the Dust Devils 6-5 in front of 1,651 at Gesa Stadium.

Spokane trailed 4-1 after four innings, but scored five runs, capped by the three-run error to take a 6-4 lead.

Tri-City scored in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to 6-5.

Mark Vasquez improved to 4-0 on the season Kaleb Fontenot struck out five over two innings to get his third save of the season for Spokane (7-5).

Diomar Lopez took the loss in three innings of relief for Tri-City (4-8).

The teams resume the three-game series tonight at 7.
