Kathleen C. Burnell 'Cookie' (Opatkiewicz), 74

Kathleen passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at North Idaho Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with her husband, three daughters and oldest grandson by her side.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of 54 years; daughters Lisa (Jay) Burnell - Nelson, Holly Burnell - Canada and Dawn (fiancé Mark Anderson) Burnell; grandchildren Thomas Curtis, Edward Canada and Angelea Burnell - Nelson.

Kathleen is also survived by her sister, Marie Pry; three sisters-in-law Rosemary Crain, Genevieve Opatkiewicz and Marge Opatkiewicz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Opatkiewicz; and siblings Harry Opatkiewicz, Joseph Opatkiewicz and Evelyn Stahelin Mulee.

She was a loving and caring mother. Kathleen also belonged to the Red Hats and Tops.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, at St. Georges Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., Post Falls, Idaho.
