The North Idaho Outlet Mall south of Interstate 90 near the Washington border evidently is getting new life.

Seven businesses have signed up for spaces in the northern building of the outlet mall — joining the two that have been there. Tedder Properties bought the mall and will move its Tedder Industries into the southern building from locations in Hayden, Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls. Built in 1991, each Outlet Mall building is 90,000 square feet.

With more than 130 employees, Tedder Industries manufactures Alien Gear Holsters, Bigfoot Gun Belts and Old Faithful Holsters.

The existing businesses in the north building are L’eggs-Hanes-Bali (undergarments) and Oriental Gifts & Food. New occupants coming include Ace Industrial Supply, SNR Costume Rental, Black-Ops Self Defense, 59 Adventures North, My Big Fat Greek Deli, a comic book store and a coffee espresso store.

Tedder Properties also has its rental office in the north building. Phone 651-3135.

Grabbagreen opening eatery off Highway 95

The juice bar and health-conscious restaurant Grabbagreen is planning an outlet in 2,200 square feet of the Super Supplements strip mall in the northwest corner of Highway 95 and Neider Avenue.

Grabbagreen describes itself as a fast-food restaurant with a preservative-free, gluten-free and GMO-free menu. It includes smoothies, grain bowls, breakfast items and acai cups.

The business started in 2013 in Phoenix and has 41 stores active with many more planned. Check www.grabbagreen.com.

Salvage 7 moves in Post Falls

About 30 vendors offer items in Salvage 7, which has moved to Suite F at 1600 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls.

The business offers reclaimed and repurposed items such as furniture, jewelry, yard decor, vintage antiques, handcrafted treasures, sign memorabilia and home decor with ‘rustic chippy’ and new things.

Shelley and Bill Eppers own the business formerly run by their son Anthony and his wife Carmi. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 to 5 Saturdays.

Peterson’s is now Lakeside Harvest Foods

It started as an IGA Grocery in 1938, and what has been Peterson’s Family Foods at 1211 Sherman Ave. is now Lakeside Harvest Foods with new owners this past year. Open 24 hours, the theme is “We honestly care.”

Harvest Foods has about 40 stores in the Inland Northwest. In Coeur d’Alene phone 664-9992. Check www.harvestfoodsnw.com.

Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for news on Santosha in the Plaza Shops, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit outside Silver Lake Mall, Panera Bread on a Prairie Shopping Center pad, An Escape Game on Third Street and Grille From Ipanema moving from downtown to Riverstone. Sweet Lou’s Restaurant and Tap House will move into that downtown space.

- Other new places coming include Hayden Medical Plaza & Clinics in Hayden and gas station-convenience stores in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster and the southeast corner of Ramsey Road and Prairie Avenue.

- On Sherman Avenue watch for Mountain Madness Soap in the former Everson Jewelry building, Crafted Taphouse adding a Victory beverage place in the former Christmas at the Lake location and a Starbucks where the gas-convenience store is at Sherman and Seventh.

- More places coming include Schini Family Dentistry building a new place in Riverstone and Sweeto Burrito near Winco. New places in Post Falls will be Popeyes, Green & Grounds Coffee Shop, Cricket Wireless. Silverlake Automotive, The Lean Bean, Jimmy Johns and Dutch Bros. Coffee.

- It’s “all right” as two words. It’s not “alright.”

- Statistics show that hardly anyone reads a letter to the editor or opinion piece that is more than seven inches long. Well, maybe the writer’s mother.

- A reader pointed out how sexist we are. We say “Oh, boy...” and “Oh, man!” But we never say “Oh, girl” and “Oh, woman.” And as a verb we say, “Man the life boats!” Not “Woman the life boats.”
