Kimberly Sue Sego, 49

| August 3, 2016 9:00 PM

Kimberly Sue Sego, 49, is succeeded by five wonderful children, Jake Burwick, Desiree Burwick, Marc Sego, Justin Sego and Alexander Sego. She passed away July 12, 2016. She was born on March 19, 1967, at Saint Joseph’s in Burbank, Calif. Her mother, Sue Gilbert, was born in Van Nuys, Calif., and her father, Max (Donald Berry Watstein), was born in California as well.

“She had a gypsy soul and a warrior spirit. She made no apologies for her wild heart. She left normal and regular to explore the outskirts of magical and extraordinary, and she was glorious.”

Our mother moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1988, and she loved it! She loved the outdoors, from the oceans and beaches, and horses she had in California, to her home in Idaho, where she spent her summers camping, floating the river, hunting for heart shaped rocks, picking flowers and ferns, having barbecues and bonfires. She always enjoyed our beautiful four seasons, even though summer was her favorite.

She also enjoyed snow forts and sledding with her children in the winter. She fully embraced trekking through the snow on the top of Fernan Mountain, so we could get a perfect Christmas tree every year. She also watched and appreciated the turn of the seasons as the plants grow and die, and change colors with the coming of the next.

She spent a lot of time playing board and card games with her family. As well as video games with her children such as “Zelda,” “Morrowind,” “Borderlands” and “Fallout.” Always a sci-fi lover, from “Fringe,” “X-Files,” “Star Trek,” to “Doctor Who” and “Stargate.”

Our mother did everything for her children. She had one of the most kind, selfless, non-judgemental, loving and caring souls that we personally will ever have the honor of knowing. She was a woman of spirituality, she loved our Lord and did the best she could by him. She embraced the imperfections of humans. She was the person people wanted to talk to when they were having a hard time. She was a pillar in so many peoples lives because she made it a point in not only her life, but the lives of her children to treat others how you want to be treated. And she really lived by that everyday.

Kimberly Sego was an amazing woman, and overall human being. She shared her heart, love compassion, truth and loyalty with everyone she met, regardless of who you used to be or what you’ve done. That heart of gold will never be forgotten, but it will be celebrated every day.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Lake City Community Church, 6000 N. Ramsey, Road, Coeur d’Alene.
