Several spray-painted, burglarized cars reported near downtown Cd'A
COEUR d'ALENE — At least 13 vehicles parked near downtown Coeur d'Alene were tagged with red spray paint last week.
Some of those vehicles, according to a Coeur d'Alene Police Department incident report, were also burglarized by an individual or individuals who vandalized the cars sometime on the night of July 28. According to the report, several of the vandalized vehicles had the letters "FBF" spray painted on them.
Officers were alerted to the string of vandalism when, according to the report, a man called Friday morning to report his Jeep had been spray-painted sometime overnight. According to the report, the suspect or suspects attempted to break into the spare tire mount, but were prevented from doing so by a padlock.
"Myself and other officers canvassed the area and located several more vehicles with spray paint on them," the report states. "We made contact with most of them and the ones we couldn't we left a business card and case number in the windshield."
The vandalism, according to the report, occurred in multiple Coeur d'Alene locations: at least three cars were vandalized on Seventh Street, at least three cars were vandalized on Montana Avenue, at least four cars were vandalized on Fifth Street, at least two vehicles were vandalized on Eighth Street, and at least one vehicle was vandalized on Second Street.
