Readers' love Haight relationship continues

COEUR d’ALENE — Yesterday was for ARCO Arena in Sacramento.

Tomorrow is for — well, you have to wait until ‘Tomorrow is...’ to find out.

In both cases you can blame Rann Haight.

The Coeur d’Alene-based architect who spends his free time drawing ‘Tomorrow is...’ for The Press really did design ARCO Arena, which opened in 1985 as home to the Sacramento Kings. He then designed a bigger facility 1 mile west of “The Madhouse on Market Street,” which opened in 1988 and was renamed Sleep Train Arena this year.

But his real pride and joy? Well, his family. But not too far down the list is his daily comic strip, “Tomorrow is...”

Haight recently gathered up all the strips from the first year of publication, had 500 copies printed and then hand-numbered every one of them. A collector’s item as well as a nifty Christmas gift to put away early, ‘Tomorrow is...The First Year’ is for sale for $14.95. You can buy it at the gift shop at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, or at The Madhouse on Second Street, also known as The Coeur d’Alene Press, 215 N. Second St.
