After his honorable discharge, John returned to Bristol where he worked for Guida Dairy as the local milkman for many years and also had a printing business with his brother. There he met Marion “Pinkie” Peterson and they were later married on Jan. 26, 1952, in Bristol, Conn. They were married for 63 wonderful years. Together they raised their family in Plainville, Conn., and after their retirement they moved to North Idaho to be near their children and grandchildren.

John was a lifetime member of the Elks Club in Bristol and enjoyed golfing, driving his golf cart and visiting with his friends. He loved having coffee at McDonald’s in Rathdrum. The staff treated him so well and they were very special to him. He enjoyed watching his favorite basketball team UConn, traveling and making road trips with his family, and especially going to Maui.
