Several changes are happening in the Plaza Shops downtown.

Whimsy, which moved to the southwest corner store from Riverstone in November, is joining the Boardwalk Boutique in the center of the complex. And Boardwalk is expanding to the east into the space that was Senti Bella.

Boardwalk Boutique’s emphasis is for women over age 40 with apparel, accessories and jewelry. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Phone 765-3500.

The Finan McDonald store is expanding into the space that Whimsy is leaving. In the shops for 20 years, its emphasis is on clothing, accessories and footwear (including for children) for the Northwest lifestyle. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Phone 765-4349. Check www.finanmcdonald.com.

We’ll run details later on Electric Gentlemen, which will open soon in the space Memory Lane left (in the northeast corner) to combine with its other location in the Plaza Shops.

Mary Jane’s Farm

has closing sale

The sale started this past week for Mary Jane’s Farm store, which is relocating to the owners’ bed-and-breakfast farm near Moscow. It’s been in Coeur d’Alene since 2008.

Planning to relocate in mid-May, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 to 5 Sundays. Phone 667-7467. Check www.maryjanesfarm.org.

KnitKnit opens

River Rock Storage

adds U-Haul rentals

As part of its U-Haul opening, River Rock Self Storage is offering a chance to become famous with your face on the side of a U-haul truck.

Trucks, towing equipment, support rental items, boxes and in-store pickup for boxes are available at 650 N. Idahline Road opening daily at 9 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m. weekdays, 3:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays.

Now for the Tidbits

• Watch for news on Movement Mortgage on Front Avenue, Benjamin Powell Galleries downtown, 777 Take-n-Bake Pizza on Best Avenue, Electric Gentlemen in the Plaza Shops, The Bluebird Pub, Real Deals on Home Decor and G.I. Java Coffee House on Fourth Street and Empire Eye, Advanced Health Care (across from Red Robin) Grille From Ipanema and Anthony’s Restaurant in Riverstone.

• Other new places coming include Terre Coffee & Bakery on Northwest Boulevard, Monet Floors & Home Design moving on Government Way, Panera Bread in Hayden and Cracker Barrel and Orban Family Dental near Winco.

• Let’s talk signs. Too many election and advertising signs are on public property such as utility poles and school properties. And yard/garage/estate sale signs should be removed after the sale or face a littering fine.

• The season’s first Art Walk (the second Friday of each month) brought many people downtown in great weather. More businesses would find it worthwhile to be open those evenings.

• Another possibility would be closing Sherman Avenue to vehicles after 4 p.m. on weekends. And balconies on food-beverage places would be cool.

• For a job interview, wear clothes that you would wear on the job. If it’s an outdoor-mill-type job, they should be clean and not torn.

• You can only ran through a campground cuz it’s past tents.

• A real headline: “Eye drops off shelf.”
