Brady Warren Cook, 50

| April 23, 2016 9:00 PM

On April 19, 2016, Brady Warren Cook unexpectedly traded his wheelchair in for angel wings.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1965, in Eureka, Calif., to Bruce and Lee Cook.

In 1970, the family moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, where Brady lived and grew up.

After graduation, he decided to travel to Arkansas to work with his brother dismantling missile silos.

At the early age of 20, while in Arkansas, Brady was involved in a serious car accident that left him paralyzed. This life changing circumstance did not slow him down in the slightest, and he continued to conquer all in his path.

In returning to Idaho, he started working for Goodwill. It was quickly realized that Brady’s outlook on life was affecting those around him and he was recognized as an honorary employee.

Brady kept busy tinkering, playing pool, hunting, and fishing. More recently, the best days were spent around Gunner, his great-nephew, teaching and learning from each other.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Cook, in 1990; and his stepfather, Skip Barker, in 2011.

He is survived by his mother, Lee Cook of Spirit Lake; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Janet Cook of Port Hadlock, Wash.; sister Pandy Brown of Athol; brother-in-law Bob Brown of Athol; caregiver Shaun Hauck; nieces and nephews, Britney, Whisper, Skyler, Courtney and Bryan; plus many more loved ones.

There will be a gathering to celebrate his life at 4 p.m. today, April 23, 2016, at 32726 N. Second Ave., Spirit Lake.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
