PREP ROUNDUP: Post Falls boys, girls win LC Invite

COEUR d’ALENE — Drew Harris of Post Falls shot a 72 to take medalists honors and teammate Joseph Glenn shot 73 to lead the Trojans to the boys team title at the Lake City Invitational on Monday at the Coeur d’Alene Golf Club.

On the girls side, Savannah Roth shot 89 to pace the Post Falls girls, who also placed first in the tourney.

Bryden Ogle shot 75 to lead the Coeur d’Alene boys to a second-place finish, and Cameron Johnson shot 82 as the Lake City boys took fourth place. Dylan Knight shot 79 as the Lakeland Hawks finished in sixth place, and Blake Balbi had 92 to lead St. Maries to a tie for ninth. Jonny Hillman shot 88 to lead Genesis Prep.

Emily Callahan finished with a 83 and the Coeur d’Aleng girls took home second-place honors.

Emily Dodge shot 92 to lead the Lake City girls to a third-place finish.

Madeline Neff finished with a 95 and Lakeland took fith place. Aspen Presley shot 95 to lead St. Maries to eighth place.

“We keep improving every tournament, but Post Falls has the teams to beat right now,” Lake City coach Troy Anderson said. “it was a great day of golf for everybody all around. We saw some low scores, even though the greens were putting really quickly.”

Most area teams will be back in action on Monday at the Circling Raven Inviational.

MEDICAL LAKE — Braden Gifford had two RBIs, but the Hawks fell to Medical Lake in nonleague play.

“We started off great, getting five runs in the first, then, we just fell flat,” Lakeland coach Jason Bradbury said. “We are committing way too many errors and mental mistakes on defense. We need to clean that up, as well as start having better quality at bats if we expect to get any better.”

Ryan Pote had a double for Lakeland (5-9), which travels to Moscow for a doubleheader with the Bears on Thursday.
