Corinne Marie Carlisle, 71
Corinne Marie Carlisle (formerly Davis, born Boutillier) passed away in her home in Aberdeen, Scotland (United Kingdom), on April 6, 2016, from cancer. Corinne was born in Cocalalla, Idaho, on Aug. 21, 1944.
She spent her youth and much of her adult life in North Idaho, raising her three children in Pinehurst, Idaho, along with her first husband, Curtis (Blackie) Davis. After her children left home she sought to expand her horizons, furthering her education at North Idaho College and then the University of Idaho, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She went on to get her master’s degree in history and was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the national honor society for liberal arts and sciences.
Corinne began working in education and social work while getting a second Bachelor of Arts in psychology from LaSalle University and graduating Magna Cum Laude. She worked as a Child Development Specialist and later as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist before moving across the ocean to the United Kingdom with her second husband, Gary Carlisle. They lived in northern Wales (U.K.) and in the south of Spain before joining her daughter’s family in Aberdeen.
Corinne is survived by her husband, Christopher Gary Carlisle of the United Kingdom; her two sisters, Peggy Turner of Dayton, Wash., and Reata Curnel of Paducah, Ky.; her daughter, Chandra Gair of Aberdeen; her two sons, Cass Davis of Moscow, Idaho, and Cal Davis of Kingston, Idaho; and three grandchildren: Hana and Haya Gair of Aberdeen, and Caden Davis of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
An informal gathering of family and friends/celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Pinehurst Kingston Lions Club building. It will be a potluck that will include some live entertainment by Grandson Caden Davis. The public is welcome.
