Memory Lane Gems and A Stroll Through Memory Lane have come together into one store in the old Painted Pony location in The Plaza Shops downtown (Suite 121 at 210 E. Sherman Ave.).

The move into the large space gives room for an expanded inventory that offers antiques, new and old jewelry that includes gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones, tiaras, rhinestones, pearls and wedding and prom pieces.

The clothing includes purses, scarves, hats, gloves, jackets, hair fascinators and vintage items. The new spaces allow dressing rooms. Phone 777-5999.

Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for news on Movement Mortgage on Front Avenue, Benjamin Powell Galleries downtown, 777 Take-n-Bake Pizza on Best Avenue, KnitKnit downtown, The Bluebird Pub, Real Deals on Home Decor and G.I. Java Coffee House on Fourth Street and Empire Eye, Advanced Health Care (across from Red Robin) Grille From Ipanema and Anthony’s Restaurant in Riverstone.

- Other new places coming include Terre Coffee & Bakery on Northwest Boulevard, Monet Floors & Home Design moving on Government Way, Panera Bread in Hayden and Cracker Barrel and Orban Family Dental near Winco.

- Watch for several changes in The Plaza Shops downtown.

- Hancock Fabrics in Prairie Shopping Center will be closing in June. Watch for big sales.

- Evidently Native Grill & Wings restaurant previously planned for property beside the new Cracker Barrel won’t be happening. Spies say the price of renovating the ground in the old dump site is too high.

- In a job interview, the handshake should be a normal grip, not too tight or whimpy, one second (not too long or quick) — not distracting. If the interviewer doesn’t offer first, it’s OK if you do. If the interview goes great and ends with a handshake, add your left hand to his/her forearm. It creates a sincere bond. Remember to have eye contact during the handshake.

- Funny. I don’t remember being absent-minded.

- The kids text me “plz,” which is shorter than “please.” I text back “no,” which is shorter than “yes.”
