Clemens John Pederson Jr., 69

Clemens John Pederson Jr. passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2016. John was born in Spokane to the late Clem J. and Martha Egbers Pederson, Aug. 3, 1946, and raised in both Coeur d’Alene and Orofino, Idaho.

He attended the University of Idaho, earning a B.A. and master’s in business administration and later a master’s in International Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management. At the University of Idaho, he was a founding member and president of the Zeta Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

After college, he served our country as a U.S. Air Force Officer and pilot. He worked in marketing for Gulfstream in Savannah, Ga., and he held positions as president of BBB offices in Waco, Texas, and Springfield/Worcester, Mass. John retired from the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC) in 2012. He was the founder and president of Ethics Talks LLC.

John was an active member of Rotary International for more than 27 years and has held numerous positions on nonprofit boards and business advisory councils. He recently completed two terms on the U of I Alumni Association National Board of Directors.

John is survived by his wife, Sherill of Spokane; sister Carol Pederson (Richard) Ogle of Houston, Texas; nephew Scott (Jessica) and Keri Ogle of Pflugerville, Texas; niece Brenda Ogle of Houston; and many beloved cousins. He is also survived by step-children Annika (Paul) Craig, Robert (Londa) Brumpton and Richard (Bonnie) Brumpton Jr. and their families. He will be missed by former step-children Carrie, Trina and Lisa.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at His Place Church, 3079 East 16th Ave., Post Falls, ID 83854. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
