Pearce memorial service is Saturday

The memorial service for Anna Marie Pearce is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake City Community Church in Coeur d'Alene.

Pearce, known also by her stage name, Patty Duke, died in Coeur d'Alene March 29. She was 69 years old.

A longtime Coeur d'Alene resident, Pearce was an award-winning actress, author and mental health advocate.

Pearce portrayed Helen Keller in the 1962 film "The Miracle Worker," becoming the youngest actor to win an Oscar. She went on to become the youngest person to star in her own television series, "The Patty Duke Show," in the 1960s. She appeared in several other movies and shows throughout the years, and wrote her autobiography, "Call Me Anna," in 1987.

Lake City Community Church is located at 6000 N. Ramsey Road in Coeur d'Alene. The service is open to the public.
