Kathy Sims for Re-election
I was proud to put my name on another “Declaration of Candidacy” for office of State Representative district 4B.
My goal in serving in this position has always been to listen to the concerns of Idaho’s taxpayer’s and to read and study to help folks in District #4 fight against higher taxes and excess regulations and fees.
Another goal is to help solve local issues with local solutions because one size does not fit all. My voting record is open and available. I vote yes for good laws and vote No so bad laws don’t pass.
Along with others serving from North Idaho, I was appointed to the Interim Committee, meeting all year long to help with the Urban Renewal Legislation to keep this valuable tool available and accountable to the taxpayers who fund it.
I have worked hard with our honored veterans and let them know their service is exceptional and valued. Along with some very dedicated folks we have legislation nearly completed for next year’s introduction to give their retirement pay a reduction from State Income Tax. Gaining the skills of highly qualified and technically trained military retirees is essential if Idaho is to fulfill our goal of creating a world class educated and skilled work force. 25 States now do this, let’s make it 26!
We continue to battle “OBAMA CARE” disguised as a State Exchange and the incredible financial mess and the costs it’s bought to Idaho’s citizens. Solutions seem to appear and then financial reality follows. It cannot be solved with more Federal Money.
I serve as Vice-Chairman of Idaho’s local Government Committee and I see the issues close at hand that affect our property taxes, payroll taxes and sales taxes as well. Fees and fines grow every year and I continue to battle these as well. A great deal of what I do is not just to pass more laws but to insure bad laws don’t pass and protect your hard earned dollars.
I was able to draft and see passed in the House a tuition work-off program for some students in North Idaho to allow them to graduate and begin a career with less student debt. Education is always important to our future. NIC is a prize for district #4 and we will work hard to see its continued success.
I have been a business owner in Coeur d’Alene for over 40 years; I’ve served on Idaho’s Human Rights Commission appointed by former Governor Phil Batt and re-appointed by Governor Dirk Kempthorne. I’m elected to Idaho Auto Dealers Board and I had the pleasure of working with the Prosecuting Attorney’s office as a Juvenile Diversion Counselor. Sending youth down the right path is so important.
Always working for you.
Hard Work is what Kathy does best.

Congressman Raul Labrador Endorses Kathleen Sims
Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador today announced the endorsement of Kathleen Sims for Legislative District 4B.

From supporting pro-growth economic policies to defending life of the unborn and our second amendment rights, Kathy has always been a reliable vote for conservative policies. I’m proud to support Representative Kathy Sims.”
Thank You Congressman Labrador. Your endorsement is very appreciated and welcomed. You represent Idaho so well.

Kathy, with your Freedom Index Scores and excellent work, I’m pleased to provide you with an Idaho Freedom action endorsement. You are a friend of Freedom.
Kathy is one of Idaho’s best legislators. She works hard to promote and defend conservative principles, and that’s reflected in her excellent voting record. She has also been one of the lead hands in efforts to reform the state’s urban renewal laws. I can’t thank her enough for all of her efforts on behalf of the taxpayers of Idaho.
