Washington State lands
Bellarmine Prep star Flynn
PULLMAN — Malachi Flynn, a 6-foot-1, 165 pound guard from Tacoma’s Bellarmine Prep, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Washington State beginning with the 2016-17 season, coach Ernie Kent announced.
Flynn earned three varsity letters at Bellarmine Prep under coach Bernie Salazar, where he compiled 1,625 career points, ranking second in school history. He also finished second in Bellarmine Prep history for career steals. As a senior he averaged 29.7 points per game, while shooting .480 from the field and .880 from the free throw line. He added 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists an outing.
His 743 points in his final year set a Bellarmine Prep single-season scoring record, breaking the mark set by current NBA player, Avery Bradley, in 2008.
