Cathey, Vaughan to speak to NIC boosters

COEUR d’ALENE — The North Idaho College Booster Club luncheon will feature two guest speakers at noon Tuesday at the Outback Steakhouse.

Whitworth College head men’s soccer coach Mogan Cathey and professional golfer Darin Vaughan will highlight the luncheon agenda.

Cathey was a standout goalkeeper at Azusa Pacific, earning All-American honorable mention, before finishing his playing career at the professional level in South Africa.

Vaughan was born and raised in Spokane. He played high school golf at Mead and went on to play at Oregon State and Eastern Washington. He has been the head pro at Twin Lakes Village Golf Club since 2002 and has been teaching golf for the past 17 years.

The NIC spring sport coaches will also provide previews of the upcoming games and the NWAC post season tournaments. The NIC Booster Club meets twice a month, usually on the second and last Tuesday of each month.
