Man dies in rollover crash near Rathdrum

A single-vehicle crash early Saturday near Rathdrum left one dead and one injured.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Northern Lakes Fire District personnel responded just before 2 a.m. to a report of a vehicle that had rolled several times in the area of East Chilco Road and North Hope Valley Road.

Deputies arrived and located a juvenile male with extensive injuries who had been ejected from the vehicle. Northern Lakes Fire responded and began treatment of the juvenile, who was transported to Kootenai Health and was reported to be in stable condition Saturday.

Deputies also located the body of an adult male who had also been ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victims were not released by KCSO on Saturday, pending notification of next of kin.
