Howard ‘Jack’ Wylie, 100

Howard “Jack” Wylie, 100, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away on March 25, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene. He was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Warner, S.D., to Claude and Flossie (McCormick) Wylie. Howard was the last of seven children. He served in the Army and on March 1, 1941, he married Charlotte Tyree in Moscow, Idaho.

After 30 years with Kaiser Aluminum, Jack and Charlotte enjoyed traveling. Jack was an avid elk hunter and bowler. He also enjoyed trolling for blue backs. Jack was the oldest and longest member of the Eagles in Coeur d’Alene.

Jack is survived by his sons, Gerald L. Wylie of Coeur d’Alene and James Howard Wylie of Sequim, Wash.; daughter Bonnie Schile of Aberdeen, S.D.; and numerous grand, great- and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Charlotte, his wife of 71 years; and six siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene. His final resting place is Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
