RIGHTS: Partisan misses mark

In the March 30 edition of The Press, letter writer Jeffrey Harrison criticized Syd Albright’s article about African Americans. Mr. Harrison slammed Republicans for not supporting civil rights.

While there is plenty of blame to go around, a Republican president issued the Emancipation Proclamation and another Republican president federalized the Arkansas national guard to force Little Rock to desegregate their schools. Mr. Harrison’s letter is a little too partisan for my taste.
