Remington back home after week in hospital

COEUR d'ALENE — Pastor Tim Remington was back in the hospital for almost a week after suffering a mini-stroke and a saddle blood clot in his lungs, but he was heading home in good spirits Tuesday night.

"He's doing really good," said The Altar outreach pastor and Remington's good friend, John Padula. "He had a mini-stroke last week ... it was barely even a stroke, it was so tiny."

Padula said the mini-stroke has affected the feeling in one of Remington's hands, but all feeling should return in no time. He said Remington's blood clot is being treated with a blood thinner and should also clear up soon.

Padula said the pastor's family is doing well and that it has been awesome to watch Remington's miraculous recovery. Remington was shot eight times in the parking lot of his church, The Altar, March 6.

"He's in really good spirits," Padula said. "He wants to be up and around, but it's going to be a while."
