NIC Theatre Department presents 'Private Eyes'

The North Idaho College Theatre Department presents “Private Eyes” by Steven Dietz at 7:30 p.m. April 14-16 and April 21-23 in NIC’s Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center on NIC’s main campus.

Where does truth end and fiction begin? When and how are the seeds of deception planted? “Private Eyes” is a comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. The audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious and moving relationship thriller about love, lust and the power of deception.

“‘Private Eyes’ is an intriguing puzzle that plays with your imagination and keeps one step ahead of the audience. Every time we think we catch up, the play has another trick up its sleeve, creating a lighthearted feel that doesn’t interfere with the serious emotional undercurrents,” said play director and NIC Theatre Instructor Joe Jacoby.

Jacoby said he is looking forward to showing off the work of the cast, which is made up of current and former students.

“Audiences will be surprised that they’re not watching professional actors. Along with the actors playing the characters, the stage crew has a part to play on stage as well adding another unique element to the play,” Jacoby said.

The play is free and open to the public. The play contains mature language. No infants please. “Private Eyes” by Steven Dietz is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
