Bruce David Lyles, 69

Bruce Lyles passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 29, 2016. Bruce was born on Oct. 25, 1946, in Monmouth, N.J., to David and Leota Lyles.

He spent parts of his childhood in Germany and Missouri before moving to Louisiana and graduating from Louisiana Tech University in 1968. Bruce served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. In 1969, Bruce married Sandra Sue Allen on Dec. 20. They welcomed their first son, Brent, in 1973 and their second son, Brandon, in 1976. Bruce and his family resided in Las Vegas, Nev., and Milpitas, Calif. After retiring, Bruce moved to Post Falls, Idaho, and enjoyed everything North Idaho has to offer.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, David. He is survived by his mother, Leota of Ruston, La.; his wife, Sandra of Post Falls; his sister, Babs Barham (Cecil) of Ruston, La.; his brother, Robert of Palm Springs, Calif.; his sons, Brent (Virginia) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Brandon (Amy) of Williamsburg, Va.; his granddaughter, Taralynn of Coeur d’Alene; and adopted grandsons Jeff Petroskie (Breanne) of Post Falls, Matthew Petroskie (Hannah) of Coeur d’Alene and Stephen Petroskie (Stacie) of Coeur d’Alene.

A brief memorial and celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Northstar Baptist Church, 8145 Ramsey Road, Hayden, Idaho.
