Richard Lee Ettinger “Dick” passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 22, 2015, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born Sept. 16, 1936, in Bozeman, Mont., to Richard and Wanda Ettinger.

He and his family moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1962 where he worked several jobs before acquiring a picture frame shop. “Frames by George” later changed names to “Gallery of Frames” and started an art gallery called “High Plateau Gallery” which he and his first wife, Barbara, had until 1975.

When they moved back to Montana, they purchased Flathead Lake Galleries in Big Fork from O’Neal Jones. Richard moved from the Flathead Valley area to Coeur d’Alene in 1985 and opened “SunShower Frame and Art Gallery,” which he ran until his passing. He had a great passion for Native American arts and culture.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Wanda Ettinger. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Ettinger; his son, Marty Ettinger; his daughters, Debbie McCleave and Vicki Keisel; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
