MOSCOW — Garrett Harrison scored on a penalty kick in the 56th minute, pushing the Lake City Timberwolves past the Moscow Bears 1-0 in a nonleague match at Moscow Junior High on Wednesday.

“It wasn’t the prettiest game, but my guys fought through it,” Lake City coach Chad Beadell said. “We got here a little late because of some road construction outside Worley, and didn’t get the warmup time we needed, but the guys battled through it. We’re happy with how we got the win, but we’ve got to play better.”

Jared Stone had eight saves for Lake City (8-0), which hosts Lakeland on Saturday.

“We were both definitely tired, and I wasn’t sure how it was going to affect us,” Timberlake coach Bert Bentley said. “We seemed to do OK. Cody scoring the hat trick was big for us and Thmas (Hauck) had a couple of great headers off corner kicks to get a couple of goals.”

“Havana, she’s just special in front of the net,” Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. “Monique had a great game today also. Our backline did a great job and didn’t give up any true shots on goal. Our front line has been pretty dynamic, and if we can get everyone on the same page, we’ll be tough.
