PREP VOLLEYBALL: Williams leads Vikings to sweep at Lewiston

LEWISTON — Ali Williams had 10 kills and seven assists as the Coeur d’Alene Vikings beat the Lewiston Bengals 25-20, 25-23, 25-16 in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Tuesday at Booth Hall.

Sydney Bybee had seven kills and six blocks, Isabella Hollibaugh 15 assists and nine digs, Maura Donovan 12 digs and Zoe Burgess nine digs for Coeur d’Alene (12-2, 2-1 5A IEL), which hosts Post Falls on Thursday.

Lewiston is 8-6, 0-3.

Lake City sweeps

Lakeland, Timberlake

COEUR d’ALENE — Ashley Kauffman had 19 kills for the Lake City Timberwolves in a 25-13, 25-18, 25-27, 25-12 win over the Lakeland Hawks in a nonleague match at Lake City High.

Tatumn Gould had eight kills and 22 digs, Macy DuCoeur had six blocks and three aces, Klaire Mitchell 28 assists and five aces and CC Cates 15 digs for Lake City (15-2) against Lakeland.

Earlier, Kenzie Dean had 10 kills, seven digs and three aces as the Timberlake Tigers beat the Hawks 25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 25-12.

Jacquelyn Mallet had 10 kills and three aces, Matraca Rocheleau 31 assists, Glori Cheevers two blocks and six kills and Courtney Eaton four digs and eight aces for Timberlake (15-6) against Lakeland.

Mitchell had 20 assists, 10 digs and four aces in a 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 win against the Tigers.

Kauffman had 10 kills and 15 digs, DuCoeur three blocks and 10 digs for Lake City (16-2), which hosts Moscow on Thursday.

Mallet had nine kills, seven digs, Kenzie Dean six kills and eight digs, Matraca Rocheleau 20 assists and 13 digs and Glori Cheevers two blocks for Timberlake (15-7), which hosts Priest River on Thursday.

Lakeland (4-9) hosts Kellogg on Thursday.

Priest River

PRIEST RIVER — Kelsey Auer came up with 21 assists to go along with 2 aces as St. Maries swept Priest River 25-18, 25-16, 25-20 in nonleague volleyball action Tuesday night.

“We actually struggled quite a bit tonight,” St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. “The moral wasn’t where it needed to be, possibly because of homecoming last week, but we played OK overall.”

Kari Ghramm added 8 kills and 7 digs for St. Maries (8-1), which hosts Grangeville and Orofino in Central Idaho League play on Saturday.

Catherine Gamma tallied 26 digs and Heidi Janhsen recorded 8 kills for Priest River (2-6). The Spartans travel to Timberlake on Thursday.

WALLACE — Paxton Dotson had nine assists, seven digs and one aces to lead the Warriors past the Miners 25-22, 25-12, 25-15 in a North Star League match.

Kaili Gentry had four blocks, eights digs and one ace, Jenna Karpinski seven digs and one ace and Allison Short two aces for Kootenai (5-4, 3-2 NSL), which hosts Mullan on Thursday.

“The night started out a little rough but we were able to get the momentum going in the second game and carry it on through to the end,” Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. “They really played with amazing chemistry.”

Wallace (5-3, 4-2) hosts Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
