SANDPOINT - A beautiful goal in the 70th minute and a key late save on a penalty kick helped earn the Sandpoint Bulldogs a 2-1 win and the season sweep over the Coeur d'Alene Vikings on Saturday in nonleague boys soccer at Pine St. Field.

After a scoreless first half, Gabe Nazemi got the Vikings on the board first in the 55th minute, but it was all Bulldogs (7-2-1) after that. C.J. Crane scored his fifth goal of the season five minutes later for the equalizer, before Dawson Mulder found Mac Stultz for the game winner, which drew the praise of Sandpoint head coach Adam Tajan, who called it the best goal of the year for his team.

"Dawson dribbled to the end line, put a move between his (defender's) legs and he found Mac, who buried it in the back of the net," described Tajan, noting Coeur d'Alene had a penalty kick in the final minutes that could have tied the game. "Kyle Hertel saved a PK with five minutes left. The senior captain came up big. It was a nice bounce back from the loss to Lake City."
