Longboard Coffee now on Government Way
Featuring Hawaiian-style organic specialties, Longboard Coffee Co. is the new name of the former Kootenai Coffee at 5417 Government Way (across from the sheriff's station and south of Dalton Avenue).
Co- founders Melissa Feusier and Chris Nicastro started Longboard in 2013 after they were inspired by the island coffee on Kauai, Hawaii. They bought Kootenai Coffee last October and crafted an approach to expand their brand that includes white coffee, a variety of tea and more than 70 flavors of syrup and sauces.
They also offer breakfast and lunch all day with several bagels, croissants, pastries and breakfast burritos with indoor and patio seating, a fireplace, drive-through and close delivery. The gift shop has specialty-grade organic coffee, Market Spice Tea, Monin syrup and T-shirts, hats and gear.
Hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. Phone 772-0592. Email longboardcoffeecompany@gmail.com.

Report unclaimed money
Nov. 1 is the due date for businesses to report all unclaimed money to the State of Idaho. This includes customers' and former employees' uncashed payroll checks, uncashed stock and mutual fund dividends, stock certificates, unclaimed security deposits, utility deposits, customer deposits, overpayments, credit balances, refunds, court deposits and insurance payments.
It's a state law. The Unclaimed Property Division can answer questions and assist businesses with how to report. Free training is available. Contact John Faltin at 208-332-2977 or visit www.yourmoney.idaho.gov and review the Holder Reporting Booklet manual.
Several years ago, while settling a deceased cousin's estate, we found many uncashed stock dividend checks through this department in various state governments of the stock companies offices by checking www.missingmoney.com.
