PREP VOLLEYBALL: Post Falls sweeps Lewiston for first league victory
LEWISTON - Kayla Mayo had 13 assists and Mackie Morris had five kills and three blocks for the Post Falls Trojans in a 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 win against the Lewiston Bengals in a 5A Inland Empire League match at Booth Hall.
Sam Hammond had nine aces for Post Falls (8-5, 1-2 5A IEL), which competes in the Sunfair tournament on Saturday in Yakima, Wash.
Lewiston is 0-2 in league.

SANDPOINT - Sierra Mayberry had five kills, seven blocks, nine digs and two aces to lead the Hawks in a 25-14, 20-25, 24-26, 25-12, 15-10 4A Inland Empire League loss to the Bulldogs at Les Rogers Court.
Brooklyn Bunch had 12 assists and three aces for Lakeland (1-5, 0-2 4A IEL), which travels to University High of Spokane tonight.
"The last four or five points of the fifth we played safe, when we should have played hard," Lakeland coach Kylee Garitone said. "All in all, they played well. We struggled with passing in the fifth set."
Sandpoint is 9-8, 1-0 and hosts Lewiston on Saturday.

KELLOGG - Kenzie Dean had seven digs and two aces for the Tigers in a 31-29, 25-15, 25-19 Intermountain League win against the Wildcats at Andrews Gymnasium.
Courtney Eaton had two aces, Matraca Rocheleau 23 assists and Jacqueline Mallet 10 kills and two aces for Timberlake (8-6, 2-0 IML), which competes in the Bonners Ferry Invitational on Saturday.

WALLACE - Losing three out of four games by just two points each, Lakeside lost a North Star League match to Wallace, 27-29, 27-25, 25-23, 25-23.
Te'a Lambert returned from a concussion with four kills and six digs for Lakeside (3-3, 2-2 NSL).
"It was an intense, tough match," Lakeside co-coach Karyn Stockdale said. "We had good volleys. Te'a pounded the ball all night long."
Setter Talia Hendrickx put up six kills, 27 digs and 22 assists for the Knights. Lillian Rhea had eight kills, eight digs, two blocks. Cailyn Dohrman added eight kills, four digs, seven blocks. Corin Peone finished with six aces and nine digs. Sarah Daman had 13 digs.
Lakeside hosts Clark Fork on Thursday.

CLARK FORK - Paxton Dotson had seven assists for the Warriors in a 25-6, 25-21, 25-23 North Star League loss to the Wampus Cats.
"Even though we missed our starting middle hitter Grace McInturff - who is out from an ankle injury - we were still more than capable of competing much stronger than we did," Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. "We're having a really rough week, but we're going to hit it hard in practice to work toward redemption at Rosalia on Saturday."
Kaili Gentry had 12 digs and Jenna Karpinski had five kills and one aces for KootenaI (4-4, 2-2 NSL), which competes at the Rosalia tournament on Saturday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Ilysa Emerson led the way with seven kills and two blocks, helping North Idaho Christian sweep Christian Heritage of Edwall, Wash., 26-24, 25-17, 25-17 in Mountain Christian League play at Holy Family Catholic School.
Rayla Andrews had 10 aces and Katelyn Stegman finished with seven digs for NICS (2-2, 2-0)
