Chester Black, 80
Chester Black, 80, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away on Sept. 10, 2015.
It was Chester's request that there be no services after his passing. He will be cremated and the family plans on sharing his final resting place between Great Falls, Mont., and Fredonia, Kan.
Chester was born June 12, 1935, in Augusta, Kan. Chester graduated from Fort Leonard Wood Army training facility in 1957.
Chester was married in 1959. He married Donna Neiffer and had two daughters, Brenda in 1960 and Laurie in 1963. Chester and Donna were later divorced.
Chester met and married Toni Lattin in 1975; they were married 40 amazing years. Toni describes Chester as soft spoken and easygoing; as well as her soulmate, companion and best friend.
Chester worked in the copper mining industry in Montana and Arizona until 1986 when he purchased a vending business. He retired from his entrepreneurship in 2005. Chester enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, loved music (his favorite song was "Fishing in the Dark") and took pride in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Toni; brother Roger Black and wife Brenda; and brother Joe Black and wife Lela; sister Evonne Duff; daughter Brenda Black and husband Rex Schweers, and granddaughter Jamie Osterman and great-grandson Jax Gonzales; daughter Laurie Oksness husband Ron Oksness and granddaughter Shaynie Oksness and grandson Shandon Oksness; and son Michael Black; sister and brother-in-law Mikell and Gary Sewell and many loving nieces and nephews.
Chester is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Agnes Black; and grandson Jeff Osterman.
