PREP SOCCER: Lake City improves to 6-0
* BOYS
COEUR d'ALENE - Devon Hoffman scored on an assist from Garrett Harrison at 62:53 of the second half, lifting the Lake City Timberwolves past the visiting Post Falls Trojans 3-2 in a 5A Inland Empire League match on Tuesday at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.
"We were able to get the ball wide to Garrett, Devon made a great run and put a good touch on the ball and calmly put it into the left corner of the net," Lake City coach Chad Beadell said. "(Post Falls goalkeeper) Levi (McElwain) made some good saves for them. It was a good, back and forth game. We had some really good spurts, and some breakdowns here and there. We're building to where we want to go. We just need to do some cleaning up around the field and it will service us down the road."
Harrison finished with two goals and an assist for Lake City (6-0, 4-0 5A IEL), which faces Sandpoint on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Memorial Field. The Timberwolves are now unbeaten in their last 17 league games.
Post Falls (2-4, 1-3) travels to Lakeland on Thursday.
