Eastwood elected to Kiwanis post
COEUR d'ALENE - Doug Eastwood was recently elected to serve as Kiwanis lieutenant governor for Division 48 within the Pacific Northwest District.
Kiwanis is an international organization that celebrated its 100th anniversary this year and has more than 600,000 members.
The organization was founded in Detroit, Mich., in January 1915 and today crosses many national and cultural lines.
Division 48 is based in North Idaho and covers Benewah, Bonner, Kootenai, and Shoshone counties.
There are six Kiwanis Clubs in Division 48, located in St. Maries, Sandpoint, Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Panhandle and the Silver Valley. There are more than 170 members in these clubs. All are dedicated to helping fill needs and solve problems in their communities with an emphasis on improving the lives of young children all over the world.
