"It was a tough match for us," Coeur d'Alene coach Andy Vredenburg said. "Lake City was the better team today. They just wanted it more than us. They came out strong from the get-go and we unfortunately didn't come to play our game today."

LEWISTON - Demi Randall scored four goals and had an assist, leading the Bengals past the Trojans in a 5A Inland Empire League match at Walker Field.

"We came back to make it a 5-4 game, but just made a mistake and didn't execute setting up to block a free kick quickly enough," Post Falls coach Sarah Stevens said. "It was a really evenly played match and we were able to rally back and get some goals, but they definitely executed their gameplan. I was happy we were able to play the entire game and find the back of the net."

Bulldog girls drop pair to GSL powers

SPOKANE - The two-time reigning 4A state champion Sandoint girls soccer team suffered a pair of tough road losses to Greater Spokane League opponents recently, games which should pay dividends down the road on the quest for a 3-peat.

The Bulldogs (2-3-1) lost 2-0 to Mt. Spokane on Saturday, following a 5-0 loss to a Central Valley team that is among the best in the state of Washington on Friday.

The tough schedule, laden with 5A and GSL teams, has served the Bulldogs well in the past, as the 4A competition can seem tame by comparison.

No stats or info was received from the games.

Sandpoint is at Moscow on Tuesday in a 4A Inland Empire League match.

It's going to be tough to stay healthy and manage this week, so it was big for Emily to step up and help like that."
