HORSE SHOW: Thanks to sponsors, participants

On Aug. 15 and 16, the Kootenai County Saddle Club hosted our annual Horse Show and O-Mok-See at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Riders from all over and ranging in age from 2 to over 70 competed in 80 classes.

KCSC members wish to thank all who made the weekend a great success. Thanks to our sponsors, all horse show participants rode away with treasures for their trusty steeds and great tips from our knowledgeable judge Gena Loper of Post Falls Equestrian Center and Duns N Roses Ranch.

KCSC would like to thank the following sponsors who made the horse show possible: Spokane Tack Trunk, Indiana Harness, A-1 Air Vent, Farm Bureau Insurance, Spokane Subaru, Rathdrum Country Store, Cenex Co-op, North 40, Hot Start, Cristen Grawcock Insurance, Kruger Ranch, Valley Vet, Andover Medical, Jack's Manufacturing, Straight Arrow Manufacturing, Troxel Helmets, Hannah Masters, Coeur d'Alene Tractor, Tom Addis Ford and Triple Crown Feeds.

The Kootenai County Saddle Club invites you to drop in at our next family friendly Playday beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds north horse arena off Dalton Avenue.

NIGHT UNDER THE STARS: Community's generosity appreciated

I would like to take the opportunity to thank our incredible community for their support of the Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation at the "Night Under the Stars" fundraiser held last week at Elk Point Estates. As the founder and Executive Director, I am once again amazed by the generosity of my community.

A special thank you to our major sponsors Elk Point Estates, Fedora Pub and Grille, Centennial Distributing, Daft Badger Brewery, A Moment in Cakes, The Party's Here, Suzanna Spencer, Ron Greene, Big Honey, bankcda and 4th Street Beverage Shack! Without their generosity, our event would not have been such a great success.

Our table sponsors included Heritage Health, Kootenai Health Safe Sleep Taskforce, Dance Theatre Northwest, R & J Landscaping, Jeremy Wallis Wilamette Valley Bank, Perfection Tire Post Falls, Parker Subaru, P1FCU, Wheatland Electric and Benewah Community Hospital.

I would also like to thank the many volunteers and my board of directors for working so hard to make this a special evening. I sincerely hope that everyone who attended had a wonderful time and please know that your support means the world to us! Funds raised at "Night Under the Stars" will support our statewide grief support and safe infant sleep education efforts.

Sincerely,

LIZ MONTGOMERY,
