COEUR d'ALENE - The Idaho Transportation Department, city of Coeur d'Alene and Kootenai Health are designing two separate improvement projects on U.S. Highway 95.

The work will be between Northwest Boulevard and Ironwood Drive in Coeur d'Alene.

The public is invited to an open house Tuesday in the old city council chambers at City Hall, 710 E. Mullan Ave. The meeting will run from 4-7 p.m.

The meeting will feature displays of the highway corridor and Ironwood intersection with details on accident history, level of service and proposed improvements.

The public will have the opportunity to learn more about the projects, ask questions of ITD and J-U-B Engineers Inc. staff, and share comments and concerns.

"The open house has been scheduled to share information with property and business owners and the general public on the project objectives, and to seek public input on issues and concerns related to improving this portion of U.S. 95," said project manager Brad Marshal of J-U-B Engineers.

Improvements to the highway between Ironwood and Northwest are part of the U.S. 95 Corridor Study, while improvements to the U.S. 95 and Ironwood intersection are part of the Ironwood Drive and Medical Campus Traffic Engineering Study.
