Tax Aide seeks volunteers

COEUR d'ALENE - Tax Aide is seeking volunteers and retirees to help prepare income tax returns for the low- to moderate-income taxpayers who need assistance.

Tax Aide is a program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service and the AARP Foundation that assists low to moderate income taxpayers with the preparation of their taxes each year.

This assistance is provided to the taxpayer at no cost to them. Last year 80 volunteer counselors in Kootenai County assisted more than 5,000 residents with the preparation and filing of their tax returns.

All are welcome to attend the volunteer informational meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Fire Station No. 3, 1500 N. 15th St. For more information call Ed Eichwald at 765-1023 or Warren Fisher at 765-6589.
