Prep volleyball:T-Wolves sweep Trojans
COEUR d'ALENE - Ashley Kaufman had 10 kills and 12 digs as the Lake City Timberwolves beat the Post Falls Trojans 25-16, 25-16, 25-23 in 5A Inland Empire League volleyball Thursday night at Lake City High.
Klaire Mitchell had 20 assists and Arlaina Stephenson had three aces for Lake City (9-0, 3-0 5A IEL), and middle blockers Nina Carlson and Macy DuCoeur had five blocks each.
Kayla Mayo had five kills and eight assists for Post Falls (3-3, 0-2). Sydney Parks had five kills, Sam Hammond eight assists, Mackenzie Morris and Kalli Minden 13 digs each, and Abriane Van Hyning two blocks.
Post Falls and Lake City return to action Saturday at the Lakeland Invitational.

COEUR d'ALENE - Ali Williams, taking over as the lone setter in the wake of Megan Ramseyer's season-ending knee injury, totaled 20 assists and added six aces as the Vikings beat the Bulldogs 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 in nonleague play.
"Ali has really stepped up and is running our 5-1 effectively," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said.
Missy Huddleston had 10 kills, six digs and four aces for Coeur d'Alene (4-1). Isabella Hollibaugh had five kills, Zoe Burgess six digs, Sydney Bybee two aces.
For Sandpoint (4-6), Kayla Neumann had six kills and seven digs, Laney Search had five kills, Lydia Harrison 10 assists, Kaitlan Ward six digs, Grace Kirscher four blocks, Grace Hicks one ace.
Coeur d'Alene plays at the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

RATHDRUM - Lexi Black had eight kills and five blocks for the Hawks in a 25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 25-17 loss to the Bears in the 4A Inland Empire League opener for both schools at Hawk Court.
"I thought our girls fought really hard and played well," Lakeland coach Kylee Garitone said. "We just need to work on being more consistent. Moscow's middle hitters hit the ball really well and we didn't block as well as we needed to. I liked the way we came back and won the third game, but we couldn't quite hang on in the fourth one."
Mattisyn Cope had six kills, three blocks and an ace for Lakeland (1-3), which hosts the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

ST. MARIES - Kaylee Auer had 10 kills and two blocks to lead the Lumberjacks past the Wildcats 25-20, 25-20, 25-18 in a nonleague match.
"It was a great game and back and forth all three games," St. Maries coach Amy Scheer said. "There was great competition from both sides. We had a player (Auer) get hurt, but she came back and the girls pulled through and played well as a team."
Kelsey Auer had 23 assists and Kari Ghramm seven digs for St. Maries (6-1), which faces Sandpoint at 8 a.m., and Cheney at 9 in pool play of the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday at Post Falls High.
Kellogg (2-2) also competes in the Lakeland Invitational on Saturday.

Cd'A Charter
HARRISON FLATS - Grace McInturff had six kills and six blocks and Allison Short had five kills for the Warriors in a 21-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 nonleague win against the Panthers.
"We did a good job of adjusting to Charter's attacks," Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. "We had some beautiful executions offensively, but overall, our defensive coverage was our strong suite tonight. The team did a great job of backing each other up and working hard to get to every ball."
Kaili Gentry had eight kills and one ace, Madison Napierala 15 assists and Brook Larson 19 digs for Kootenai (4-2), which travels to Lakeside on Tuesday.
Kallie Garn had four kills and nine digs, Stephanie Kociela five kills and eight digs and Madison Aittama three kills, nine digs and two aces for Coeur d'Alene Charter (1-2), which travels to St. Maries on Tuesday.
"It was a good, pretty competitive match," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Ian Kelsey said. "It just ended up being the team that made the least mistakes ended up winning. But our bench players got some quality time and made a quality impact on the game."

Lakeside
PLUMMER — Talia Hendrickx had five kills, 20 assists and 17 digs for the host Knights, but the Miners won a close North Star League match, 17-25, 25-23, 25-12, 23-25, 16-14.
“They were close games, so we started out well,” Lakeside co-coach Karyn Stockdale said. “We were shorthanded tonight and it really threw the girls off balance.”
Te’a Lambert suffered a concussion in a car wreck and is expected to be out for a week for the Knights (2-3). Rachael Arthur added six kills and three assists, and Cailyn Dohrman had five kills, five blocks and five digs.
“Talia did an outstanding job of using all of her hitters,” Lakeside co-coach Kellee Johnson said.
Lakeside hosts Kootenai on Tuesday.
