Lake City football plans fundraiser for fallen officer
COEUR d'ALENE - Lake City High School will be raising money for Sgt. Greg Moore's memorial fund during Friday night's home football game vs. Central Valley.
Kickoff for what the Timberwolves are billing as "K27 Night" is at 7 p.m.
Half of the admission gate, and half of the concessions will go to the fund. A 50-50 drawing will also be held, and the school will also have a donation station for people who would like to donate.
The family will be presented with a check between the third and fourth quarter.
Vikings to honor 1985 state champion football team
COEUR d'ALENE - Members of the 1985 Coeur d'Alene High state champion football team are invited to the Vikings' home football game Friday vs. Ferris, scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Coeur d'Alene will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the state title team. Players can watch the game from end zone tents, and the team will be introduced at halftime.
Organizers are trying to reach to as many players as possible, and are looking for help in spreading the word.

Cowboys sign ex-BSU QB Moore to practice squad
IRVING, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys added a second quarterback to their practice squad in Kellen Moore, a veteran who will be reunited with Dallas offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.
Moore, who signed Tuesday, was an undrafted free agent with Detroit in 2012, when Linehan was the Lions' offensive coordinator. The former Boise State quarterback didn't play in the regular season in three years before Detroit waived him Saturday.
Undrafted rookie Jameill Showers, who played special teams in the preseason, is the other quarterback on the practice squad. Dallas also added running back Gus Johnson, the team's preseason rushing leader.
The Cowboys' other practice squad additions were in camp with other teams: receivers Vince Mayle (formerly of Washington State, who was cut by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday), Rodney Smith (Cleveland) and linebacker Joe Thomas (Green Bay).
Shock add three more to 2016 IFL roster
SPOKANE - The Spokane Shock have signed three more players to their 2016 Indoor Football League roster - receiver Harry Peoples, linebacker Armogen Walker and defensive lineman Brett Bowers.
Peoples (6-0, 195 pounds, Louisiana-Lafayette) joins the Shock for his second season as a member of the IFL. Last season, Peoples played for a year overseas for the Lura Bulls in Norway where he earned MVP honors while primarily playing quarterback but also seeing time as a kick and punt returner. Prior to his season in Europe, Peoples spent time with the NFL's Chicago Bears in 2013 before playing with the IFL's Tri-Cities Fever in 2014 for now Shock coach Adam Shackleford.
"Tre" Walker (6-4, 240, Kansas State) joins the Shock for his second season as a member of the IFL. Prior to signing with Spokane, Walker played in 2015 with the Colorado Ice and Nebraska Danger.
Walker played at Kansas State where he appeared in 34 games from 2010-2013. After his collegiate career, Walker spent time with the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.
Bowers (6-3, 265, New Mexico) joins the Shock for his rookie season as a member of the IFL. Bowers completed his final two collegiate seasons at the University of New Mexico where he appeared in 23 games and recorded 67 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles.
Hatley ties for third at B.C. mid-amateur tourney
VICTORIA, British Columbia - Reid Hatley of the Hayden Lake Country Club finished in a tie for third last week at the the 31st Pacific Northwest Men's Mid-Amateur Championship. Hatley shot 76-72-68-216, 3 over par on the Valley Course at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort.
Brent Wilson of Cobble Hill, B.C., shot 76-65-20-211 and won by four strokes.
