LETTER: From Mom to Katelynn

| September 9, 2015 9:00 PM

To my sweet daughter: Katelynn, as you start first grade today, I want you to know that I am very proud of you. You have always been self-motivated to do things. Once you set your mind to something, you do it. I admire the spirit you have…the joy you show…and the love you give.

I want you to always remember to be you, not someone others want or think you should be. It may seem like you have many years before you are out on your own, but those years will fly by. You are officially a first-grader and in 12 years, you will graduate high school and be off to fulfil the hopes and dreams you come up with from now til then. I will be by your side to help when needed, but you will have the ability and wisdom to decide what you want to do in life and what is best for you. As you grow, your goals and dreams will change…and that is OK. I can guarantee what you decide to do and accomplish in the next 12 years will prepare you for the rest of your life.

You are a smart, helpful, kind, loving, generous, patient, young girl, who shows a lot of potential and I am proud to be a part of watching you grow.

Have a great school year, sweet princess! I love you!
