Gene (Charlie) Lent, 79

Gene Robert Lent (Charlie), 79, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Sept. 2, 2015, of prostate cancer.

Charlie was born in Calhoun County, Iowa, on Feb. 6, 1936. He graduated from Manson High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State University for one year before leaving to pursue a career as a mason. He worked 40 years as a mason and had his own business. Charlie left his talent for perfection all over Iowa.

Charlie was married to Joyce on Nov. 12, 2001. They spent winters in Arizona making many happy memories. He was known for his storytelling and for his great golf game. He moved to Post Falls in 2002 and loved it here where he learned to drive a motor home and a boat with a BIG motor. He loved fishing, camping with all the kids, the Seahawks and Gonzaga. They all loved him and will miss everything about him.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Joyce Lent and her children, Cathy, Mike, Pat and Joe; his brother, Joe, who resides in Colorado; son Jeff; daughter Julie; along with 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Real Life Ministries on Cecil Road in Post Falls. Burial will be in Pella, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Union Gospel Mission.
