MOVED: By amazing youth

| September 6, 2015 9:00 PM

Our moving truck arrived in Coeur d’Alene from Connecticut last Saturday morning but the workers who were to unload our goods did not show up. The driver clearly failed us and had no idea where he could find a new crew. My neighbor, Catherine, bicycled over to North Idaho College and found Klaus Hanley, who rounded up three more young men and came to help within an hour.

They were cheerful good workers and showed more concern for our goods than did the moving company. Two young women volunteered to help with inventory control. The young ladies refused a tip from me after working for three hours. I finally persuaded them to split half the tip I’d offered. They were all verbally abused by the moving company representative (who obviously forgot they were doing us all a tremendous favor!) but all the students kept their cool.

I was so impressed by their kindness and work ethic. They are all here from distant places, yet provided us with the best possible impression of NIC and Coeur d’Alene. I am so proud of them — they are most exemplary young people.
