HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Miscues cost Lake City

SPOKANE - Lake City had two interceptions, lost two fumbles and had a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown in a 35-14 loss to Lewis and Clark in a nonleague high school football game Friday night at Joe Albi Stadium.

Scott Helsper rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown for Lake City (0-2). The Timberwolves trailed 14-7 late in the second quarter before Lewis and Clark (1-0) returned the blocked kick for a touchdown on the final play of the first half.

Dakota Kielblock scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter for Lake City, which plays host to Central Valley next Friday.

Lake City totaled 371 yards to 379 for the Tigers, who did not have a turnover.
