Event to help area food banks

The second Russell Brown Food Challenge is scheduled to take place Sept. 12 at Curley's Hauser Junction.

The event raises food for the Post Falls, Spirit Lake and Coeur d'Alene food banks. The challenge is given to businesses, organizations and families to collect the most food to donate before the deadline. Brown's goal is to raise more than 9,000 pounds of food. Last year the event raised 1,200 pounds of food for the Post Falls Food Bank.
