One week after fears of poor air quality forced several local teams into the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, everyone is back outside this week.

The only question was, would Lake City have a game this week, pending a possible strike by Spokane School District teachers this morning. With a late agreement between the teachers and district, the Timberwolves' game with Lewis and Clark, scheduled for Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane, will go on.

It's the season opener for all Washington schools.

Lake City (0-1) vs. Lewis and Clark (0-0): Lake City won last year's matchup 29-0 at home, but the Timberwolves are in rebuilding mode this year. Lewis and Clark returns most of its starters from last year, when the Tigers led the Greater Spokane League in total defense.

Coeur d'Alene (0-1) at Central Valley (0-0): The Vikings hammered the Bears 50-14 last year in Coeur d'Alene, but were shut out last week for the first time since 2004.

CV returns quarterback Tanner Sloan, the GSL's No. 2 passer last year, and their offensive line includes 6-foot-6, 290-pound Scott Peck, who has verbally committed to the University of Utah.

Skyview (0-1) at Post Falls (0-1): Skyview lost 61-25 last Saturday to Riverton (Utah) at the Rocky Mountain Rumble in Pocatello, and Post Falls is coming off a 20-19 loss to Sandpoint last Saturday at the Kibbie Dome. Skyview beat Post Falls 26-20 last year in Nampa.

Lakeland (0-1) at West Valley (0-0): Lakeland is coming off a 49-7 loss to Lewiston at home last week. Lakeland beat West Valley 31-7 at home last year.

Timberlake (1-0) at Freeman (0-0): Timberlake is coming off a 20-14 victory over Frenchtown (Mont.) in its opener Saturday night.

Riverside (0-0) at St. Maries (1-0): St. Maries rolled to a 38-7 victory over Kellogg in its opener last Saturday at the Kibbie Dome.

Clark Fork (0-0) at Kootenai (0-0): Clark Fork's season opener last week was postponed due to poor air quality, so tonight's game becomes the season opener for both teams, as Kootenai was not scheduled to play last week. The game is also the White Star League opener for both.

Kendrick (0-1) at Lakeside (0-1): This is the White Star opener for both teams. Kendrick lost 8-0 to 1A Division I Genesee last Thursday in the season opener at the Kibbie Dome; Lakeside lost 60-20 to Lewis County in a nonleague game between White Star teams.
