Donna (Stokes) Hindberg, 82

Donna Hindberg passed away peacefully on Aug. 29, 2015, at Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Donna was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. Donna was born March 30, 1933, in Ogden, Utah, to Mary Susan Whitaker. Mary later married Jess James Stokes. Donna had two stepsisters, Ray and Donna; and one brother named Donald. Donna was raised in Corinne, Utah, and went to Brigham High School.

Donna married August (Gus) Hindberg on May 27, 1950. They had five boys and one girl. Gus and Donna moved to North Idaho in 1951. They lived in Samuels, Athol, Rathdrum and then Spirit Lake. Donna loved horses, ceramics, tole painting, gardening, canning and camping with her grandchildren. Throughout the years, Donna traveled with family members to Disneyland, Chicago, Hawaii, Florida and Nashville, Tenn.

She sold Tupperware and worked at Ponseness Warren for 25 years. Donna played on the Rathdrum town basketball team. She also found time to be a Cub Scout Den Mother, Primary president and many other callings in the LDS Church. She loved to visit the Temple and work in the LDS cannery in Spokane.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; and three sons, Kelvin, Brent and Darwin. She is survived by two sons, Rick Hindberg of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Gary Hindberg of Bellingham, Wash.; one daughter, Carol Miller (Kevin Miller) of Spirit Lake; her sister, Ray Beesley of Brigham, Utah; and one daughter-in-law, Lita Hindberg of Rathdrum. Donna had 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was loved by family and friends and will be in our hearts forever.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, with funeral services scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15151 N. Meyer Road, Rathdrum.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Donna's name to Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
